How it works.
A dog or cat can't travel directly from India to Australia. Australia's DAFF requires a pet from a non-approved country to live continuously in an approved Group 1, 2 or 3 country for at least 180 days right before export, and the Australian tests and vaccines are done in that country.
The order of two steps changes the quarantine near Melbourne. Do the optional government identity check before the blood test and the minimum is 10 days. Do them the other way round and it's at least 30.
