India to the UK
Moving a dog or cat from India to the UK
The UK is a paperwork move. One blood test starts a three month clock, and nothing speeds it up. Allow 4 months or more.
Stop by stop
The timeline for the UK.
In the order it happens. Where the authority sets a minimum gap, it's written on the line.
01 · Start
Start planning
4 months or more before the flight, and earlier is kinder.
02 · Vet
Microchip
ISO 11784/11785. It goes in before any of the rabies work.
03 · Vet
Rabies vaccine
Given after the chip, so the records match.
- 30+ days
04 · Vet
Blood sample
Sent to an approved lab. It has to read at least 0.5 IU/ml.
- 3 month wait from the sample
05 · Papers
Health certificate
The Great Britain pet health certificate, signed and stamped by the official vet.
- about 7 days before
06 · Check
AQCS export check
The pet and the whole file go to the quarantine office, by appointment, about a week before the flight. The export certificate is good for 10 days.
07 · Travel
Flight
Cargo, accompanied baggage or the cabin, whichever the airline and route allow.
08 · Arrive
Home
The same team runs the far end from the same file: the import permit, the clearance, the duties and any inspection, then the drive to your new address. Someone from our team is with your pet after he lands.
Families who took this route, in their own words.
“Stella arrived at London safely with not a worry in the world.”
“Taking my 3 cats from India to UK was a huge decision as they are quite skittish and I honestly did not think they would make good travel candidates.”
How it works.
Your pet needs an ISO 11784/11785 microchip, then a rabies vaccine, then a blood test that goes to an approved lab. The sample is taken at least 30 days after the vaccine and has to read at least 0.5 IU/ml. Great Britain then counts three months from the day the blood was drawn, and he can't enter before that.
We build the file for the Great Britain pet health certificate, which the official vet signs and stamps in India. The crate is measured on your pet and checked against IATA Container Requirement 1 and the airline flying him, and we tell you honestly whether cargo, accompanied baggage or the cabin is open on this route.
We don't book travel until the lab result is back in our hands.
The file for United Kingdom
- The Great Britain pet health certificate, made out for this pet and route, signed and stamped by the official vet.
- The rabies blood test from an approved lab, then the full three month wait from the sample date.
- The extra documents and blood tests the UK asks for on top of the standard export file.
All of this sits on top of the standard export file.
Quarantine: Not in our published list
Our published list names a held quarantine place for Singapore and Malaysia. It doesn't name this destination, and it doesn't say anywhere else is exempt either. So we check the current position with the authority, for your pet and your date, before anything is booked.
The thing that moves the date
The titre clock. A UK move that starts eight weeks out has nowhere to put a three month wait, so the first thing we'll ask is your date.

Rules change. We check the live rule for your pet and your dates before anything is booked, and nothing here is a promise about a date.
Tell us about him.
The quickest way is a message. Both of these open with it already written, from what you picked above, and a founder answers.
Hi, I'd like to move my pet.
Or fill in his pass, and it goes on WhatsApp or by email with everything in it
