The journey

Moving a pet between Indian cities

People treat it as the easy one. The airline still has to agree to carry him, the crate still has to fit, and if either end is far from a main airport, the road leg is the part to plan.

There's no import permit, no titre clock and no quarantine inside India. The work is different, not missing: the airline, the crate, the weather and the road legs still have to line up.

By air

Everything depends on which airlines will carry him on your sector, for his breed, in your month. That's the question that decides the plan.

By road

For places away from the main airports, we arrange the road leg to the nearest one. It's often the longest stretch he spends travelling, and the one where we can do the most for him, so we plan it as carefully as the flight.

Who's with him

Our people are with him on the road at both ends, and at the airport up to the handover. On a domestic move that's a bigger share of the whole day than on an international one.

What still applies

  • Several airlines won't carry snub-nosed dogs and cats.
  • Heat limits in summer, set by each airline.
  • We don't sedate.
  • The crate has to fit him to the airline's spec, and some airlines want extra steel mesh.

Your new city

Pet registration after arrival is municipal, and each city sets its own rule. We check the current requirement for the city where the animal will live and handle it where the local authority asks for registration.
