The flight itself takes a few hours. What takes the time is the paperwork at the other end: a blood test that some countries make you wait months after, a quarantine place that has to be booked before you fly, an import permit, and an airline that has to agree to carry him. None of that runs on your moving date, it runs on theirs.

Why some places take so long
Australia and New Zealand don't take pets straight from India. For Australia he has to live in an approved country for at least 180 days in a row first, and the Australian tests are done there. For New Zealand he's prepared through a categorised country, and from 1 April 2027 every arrival also needs an identity check at least six months before export.
Singapore is a short flight and a six month plan, because the blood sample has to be at least 90 days before export and a quarantine place of at least 30 days has to be booked ahead. Great Britain counts three months from the day his rabies blood sample is taken, which is why the UK is a four month move at the least. Every route's own timeline is drawn stop by stop.
What eats the time
- The rabies blood test and the wait some countries make you do after it.
- Finding an airline that will carry his breed, on your route, in a month when its heat limits don't stop him.
- A quarantine place, where the country needs one booked before travel.
